What is a comedone? A comedone is a term used in skincare to describe a pore that is plugged up by dead skin cells and excess sebum. Both whiteheads and blackheads are comedone acne types because they both describe pores that are clogged. The appearance of whiteheads and blackheads are different, yet the general problem is a clogged pore—a comedone.
