Epigenetics & Skin

During your lifetime, your skin undergoes continuous renewal, but as you age, your skin's regenerative potential declines. All cells within your body contain the same set of DNA, but they end up working in different ways. And the reason they act differently is because of epigenetics. Epigenetic studies are relevant because of the potential of epigenetic therapies as a tool to reprogram cell fate. Of course, further studies are required to understand, prevent, and reduce the signs of aging on skin.
