Eyelid Dermatitis

Experiencing itchy, dry, or irritated eyelids? You may be dealing with eyelid dermatitis, a form of contact dermatitis or eczema that can affect the lower and upper eyelids. Things like hair-care products, ingredients in skincare, metals, or even nail polish can cause this type of irritation. In addition, the risk of developing eyelid dermatitis increases if you have a history of eczema, sensitive skin, or use too many active ingredients in your skincare routine. To combat eyelid dermatitis, you should first work with your dermatologist to find the best treatment options for you. You should also (1) maintain a healthy skin barrier by moisturizing regularly and (2) avoid applying harsh ingredients around the eyes.
