Freckles

Freckles have enjoyed recent popularity within the last few years—as a sign of health and that you've been enjoying time in the sun. At other times and for different cultures, freckles were meant to be covered up and concealed. The facts are these: Freckles appear when skin cells on the face overproduce melanin in response to UV rays. Some skin types freckle easily. That is, the skin cells are quick to produce melanin, which appears as freckles. Freckles themselves are not harmful and are indeed a sign of an active lifestyle. However, excessive sun exposure without sun protection will result in damaged skin. The best advice here is always to wear sunscreen.
