"Intuitive skincare" is another skincare term we have seen on beauty sites. The general idea behind it is a good one: Listen to your skin and answer accordingly. Proponents of this style of skincare suggest that—instead of having a set routine of beauty products you use daily—you ask yourself how your skin feels and looks on a daily basis. For example, perhaps on a particular day, your skin is more dehydrated than usual, and you use a heavier-duty moisturizer than you would normally. Or maybe you feel a breakout coming on, and you pull out your go-to acne-preventing cleanser. As advocates of thoughtful skincare, we see the need for a mindful approach in all we do—including in the daily care of our skin.
