Outward Symptoms of Stress
Aside from changing how you feel, stress can also affect your skin. Here's a list of a few outward symptoms of stress and how it may cause unwanted blemishes and skin condition flare-ups. (1) Stress may cause breakouts. Stress drives the body to pump out cortisol which can cause the glands under the skin to produce more oil. This may result in breakouts when the oil gets trapped inside the hair follicles. (2) Could trigger psoriasis and rosacea flare-ups. Stress is a common trigger for conditions like psoriasis and rosacea due to inflammation caused by stress. (3) You may develop bad habits related to your skin, such as neglecting your skincare regimen, picking or rubbing your skin, or popping pimples.
