At the 2021 Consumer Electronics Show, one clear development was in beauty-focused apps, aimed at providing in-person skincare analysis directly to consumers’ homes—addressing the need to social distance. These apps are still in their early stages, and in-person consultation with a certified dermatologist or licensed beauty technician is our preferred choice. Still, it’s crucial to be aware of the latest crop of skincare apps—to consider how they could be useful in the future and how the further development of such apps could shape and affect the industry.
