What is Subcision?
Subcision is a method used to treat acne scars, wrinkles, and cellulite dimples through a minor surgical procedure. The process involves inserting a sterilized needle into the skin to release the fibrotic strands tethering a scar to the underlying tissue. This break of the fibrotic strands allows the skin to rise, which improves the scar's overall appearance. Although this procedure isn't suitable for all types of scars, it may help with acne scarring or depressed scars when used alongside other treatments, such as topical retinoids, dermabrasion, laser treatment, peels, or micro-needling.
