Milia are small bumps that usually appear in groups on the cheeks, nose, and chin. They develop when keratin or skin flakes build up and get trapped under the skin's surface. If you have milia, you can do a few things to help heal and even prevent it from forming.
Here are some tips:
(1) First and foremost, don't try to remove them yourself. Picking or poking milia can cause it to bleed, scar, and introduce germs to the area.
(2) Wash your face with a gentle soap daily.
(3) Steam your face after cleansing to remove irritants from your skin.
(4) Gently exfoliate your skin 1-2 times a week.
(5) Wear sunscreen every day. This will decrease skin irritation that can cause milia.
